Yak cheese is the perfect complement to My Home Treats' products because it fulfills your dog's need to chew. These chew bars last a very long time, but it's recommended to start by providing one bar for 15-20 minutes per day to allow your dog's digestive system to adjust to this new food and thus avoid changes to your dog's stool consistency.
When there is a small piece of cheese left to chew, you can microwave it for 1 minute. The piece will expand. Let it cool and you can give it to your dog, who can then crunch the rest.
These yak cheeses are an excellent reward to keep your dog occupied, mentally stimulated, and satisfy their need to chew.

1. Milk collection and curd preparation
Origin: Fresh yak or cow milk (depending on availability and composition) from high-altitude Himalayan farms.
The milk is boiled at 90–95°C for 30–45 minutes to kill pathogens.
After cooling to about 45°C, lime juice or food-grade citric acid is added to curdle the milk.
2. Drain and press the curd
The curd is drained to remove the whey.
The solid curd is pressed under a weight of 15-20 kg for 12-24 hours to remove residual moisture.
3. Initial drying and smoking
The blocks are cut into sticks and dried in a smokehouse at a controlled temperature of 50-70°C for 2-3 weeks.
Smoking not only promotes preservation, but also enhances the firm texture and unique aroma of the product.
4. Heat treatment (sterilization)
After drying, the chewable products are subjected to a final dry heat treatment at 90-100°C for 30 to 45 minutes.
This treatment ensures microbial safety by reducing the pathogen load without degrading the product.
5. Quality control and packaging
Each batch is tested for humidity (<12%), microbial load and hardness.
This process guarantees a long-lasting, highly digestible, and completely natural dog chew. All steps comply with HACCP, ISO, and FDA standards, ensuring product safety and traceability.
