Are there any contraindications or precautions I should know about?
Here are Health Canada's contraindications:
- Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals
- Do not use in animals receiving other drugs, unless directed by a veterinarian
- Not for long term use, unless directed by a veterinarian
- This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
- If your dog’s health worsens, stop product usage and consult your veterinarian
- Keep bag out of the reach of animals
- For use in dogs only.
- Do not use in cats.
How does this differ from your Serenity supplement, and can they be combined?
The Serenity supplement complements this product and was developed to act on anxious behaviour in dogs through other active ingredients. For some dogs, Calming + Relaxation will be the better fit; for others it will be Serenity + Focus.
Serenity notably helps support the normal functioning of the nervous system. For dogs with serious anxiety issues, we recommend using both supplements, or better still the cognitive supplement bundle.
Which dogs is this supplement suitable for, and from what age?
This product is suitable for all dogs (from puppy to adult) that aren't affected by one of the contraindications listed in the first question.
Are the biscuits easy to chew for a small dog or a senior dog?
The biscuits have a crunchy texture that breaks apart easily when bitten.
Where are your biscuits made, and where do your ingredients come from?
Our biscuits are made in Quebec. We prioritize Canadian ingredients whenever they're available; certain actives don't grow here and are imported from their region of origin.
It is nearly impossible to get my toy poodle to eat anything that isn't meat, so I was surprised when she gobbled these up. If your dog is a picky eater like mine, the fact that she approved them is a huge win right out of the gate. As for the calming effectiveness, it is too early to give a full review since I have only been giving them to her as a daily treat for the past 2 days. I haven't noticed any major behavioral changes yet, but I love that the ingredients are natural and Health Canada approved. Happy to have found a treat she will actually eat!
